American Legion Post 171 supports Scouting programs and outdoor activities that promote leadership, service, and hands-on learning. Our Post is proud to provide resources like the hiking trail for scouts, families, and the community to enjoy.

Post 171 Hiking Trail Overview

Damascus American Legion Post 171 is proud to host a hiking trail located behind the Post building on Lewis Drive.

The trail was created as an Eagle Scout project by Charles Hu of Scouting America Troop 1397. The project provides a natural outdoor space for scouts, families, and community members to enjoy.

Trail Information

The hiking trail runs through the wooded area behind the Post property and is approximately 1/3 mile in length.

The path is marked with white trail blazes and log markers to help hikers stay on the designated route.

A small campsite area has also been established near the end of the trail for scout activities and outdoor learning.

Scout Use

Local Scouting America troops are welcome to use the trail for outdoor activities with advance permission from Post 171.
